ABOUT US

Established in 2017

Pine-Clad Candle Co. is a home based, small mom & pop business based in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We specialize in handmade high quality wooden wick soy candles and wax melts. We offer a unique variety of curated scents inspired by our home in South Dakota, focusing on woodsy, earthy scents inspired by nature; but we have something for everyone to enjoy! Thank you for checking us out. Let us know how we can help you find your new favorite scent!

All of our products are soy based, free of dyes, lead, petroleum, phthalates and made with all U.S. made materials.

OUR PROCESS

We strive to bring you the highest quality candle, so each and every candle and melt are made to order and individually hand poured in small batches in our home studio. It all starts with prepping jars by sterilizing them and then inserting wooden wicks. We then melt our natural soy wax, combine the fragrance oils & mix it slowly by hand. Once the magic has happened we pour into the jars, let cool, label and lid. The candles then cure for a minimum of one week (sometimes including shipping time) to give you a great smelling handmade high quality soy candle.

CANDLE CARE

  • Trim your wick in between burns by removing the burnt bits of wood from the top of your wick. You can easily pinch these off with your fingertips. Your candle is ready to light upon receiving initially.

  • Wooden wicks have a larger surface area compared to cotton wicks. We advise you to light the wick across the candle as opposed to at only one end.

  • During the first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the container, but it's not recommended to burn candles for more than 4 hours at one time.

  • For safety, if the flame is too high or smoky: blow the candle out, trim the wick and relight.

  • Only touch the candle when it has completely cooled.

  • Take care to not let any of the soot from the wick fall into the candle.

  • Stop use of candle once you have about a 1/2 " remaining in jar or when the metal wick clip is exposed.

“I started making candles as a hobby and therapeutic activity. I made them for family & friends. Soon after I knew I had something to offer the community and it wasn't long until my entrepreneurial dreams took over. I have a full time job in addition to Pine-Clad, and I'm a wife & mom of two. My husband Ben helps with the business as well. We hope you enjoy your candles as much as we enjoy creating them for you.

Thank you for your support!”
